Web 2.0 in Professional Development

I was just reading some posts over at Edubloggerworld , and a forum topic about using web 2.0 for PD caught my eye. I have participated in a Moodle based online PD program a couple of years ago and I thought it had a lot of potential. At the time, it wasnt felt to be appropriate for where out staff were at, so it wasnt pursued. Currently we run quite a lot of PD about web 2.0, but I dont know why it caught me by surprise to think of utilising blogs, wikis etc as an ongoing tool in all my PD. It is certainly something I am going to think about and plan to implement in future programs. Maybe because most of my PD is one off sessions run at conferences and such, but certainly for an ongoing school based PD program there is a wealth of possibilities.

    Hi Suzanne

Should have looked further down on your members page at EdubloggerWorld to find your blog. Apologies. Any way I really think what you said in the forum was important and I have written a post about it. I will go back into my post later in the day and take the time to link to your blog.

I also contacted Darren, who I network with a lot, and who is one of the main people involved with setting up EdubloggerWorld to tell him he has to listen to what was being said in the forum

    Sue
